About Meir
Hi, i’m Meir: husband, father, solutions developer, community builder. I have a passion for motivating others, to help light their internal flame, so that together we can develop ways to improve the lives around us.
The Name
How is Meir Pronounced?
- May-EER or Mare – These would be the proper Hebrew ways of pronouncing it
- MY-er – I am told that this is a German way of pronouncing it, and since my great-grandfather was from Austria it makes sense that he changed his spelling to Meyer and used this pronunciation in America
Origin of Meir
from the Hebrew male-oriented verb “one who sheds light”, or “one who illuminates”, which goes along great with my fav quote “The shamash is the candle that lights the others. Be a shamash.” by Rabbi David Wolpe.
